The supervisor system helps controlling the operations developed by the device Supervisor 60870-5-104. It works as a “sniffer”: It captures in real time all communication packets exchanged between TERNA control centre and the UPDC, analyses them and registers all sensitive information.

The supervisor operates in all UPDC and UPDM devices installed over the Italian territory that comply with the standards established by the Terna Group (operator of networks for the transmission of energy).

The presence of a supervision device in the system does not influence in no way the communications between the UPDC device and the Terna Group centre. Such safety is guaranteed by the router CISCO 2921 installed in all interruptible plants.

Parts of the main window

The main window has 7 components:

  1. The upper bar or title;

Several main pages can be carried out, each of them with several combinations of the components described above.
